The lens hood

A lens hood can come in handy. This one is fastened by pushing it onto the square box that holds the lens. For transportation it is stowed inside the camera body. Just don't forget to take it out before using the camera! I have forgotten it inside on several occasions, for with certain lenses and motives it is hard to see on the ground glass - but not in the picture, alas.
